The 2012 U.S. presidential election is finally coming to a close. Hopefully, by the end of tomorrow, Nov. 6, we’ll have a winner. To see how America votes, we suggest downloading one of the following apps.
NBC Politics, free, universal
To be elected president, Barack Obama or Mitt Romney needs to win 270 electoral votes, no matter the popular vote total. NBC’s official political appincludes a “Play the “what if” game!” that will be transformed on election night into the real Electoral College map. It will also include a voting breakdown by state.
Think NBC is too liberal? Not tomorrow night when they’ll have to report the actual results.
The Wall Street Journal, free, universal
The Wall Street Journal removes their pay wall beginning at 5 p.m. EST on election night. Come here to see up-to-the-minute news from across the U.S. Freebie coverage is also available at WSJ.com.
Official Drudge Report (Free), universal
Many have accused Drudge of being in Romney’s camp this year. However, on Election Day it will be just the facts. This is also a great place to go for leaked exit poll results.
Tweetbot for Twitter, $2.99, iPhone, iPad
Our favorite Twitter client is also the fastest to refresh timelines, which is important on a night when the news will be constantly in motion. And yes, it is well worth the price of admission.
Pulse News, free, iPhone, iPad
One of the first newsreader apps for the iPad, Pulse News is a great way to find out who the next president will be. To get ready, select your favorite feeds via the app’s special Politics page.
Which app will you be using on Election Day?
