The first accessory for the iPad mini shouldn’t be a big surprise. Apple has just introduced the iPad mini Smart Cover at its event today in San Jose, Calif.
Unlike the Smart Cover for the larger iPad, the mini’s cover has no metal hinge. The colorful material wraps all the way around the device. The cover will be available in blue, green, light gray, dark gray, pink, and PROJECT Red. The covers will retail for $39.
And while Apple has introduced its only accessory for the iPad mini, expect to see a flood of new companions for the smaller iPad in the coming days and weeks from third-party manufacturers. Look for our coverage on AppAdvice and my This Week in Accessories column soon.
