However, that’s no longer the situation as IK Multimedia introduces iGrand Piano.
While it may appear no more spectacular than any other piano synthesizer, iGrand Piano proves its magnificence with concert-quality sound reproduction of eight grand and upright piano models, nine optional studio-quality pianos, and a full set of features, including Core MIDI support. By implementing Core MIDI, pianists have the opportunity to play on the built-in soft keyboard, nearly any MIDI-equipped standalone keyboard or controller by utilizing the iRig MIDI, or IK Multimedia’s mini MIDI keyboard controller, the iRig keys. No matter which input is chosen, there’s easy access to all of iGrand Piano’s capabilities.
The app is separated into four areas plus menu, each optimized for a task and contains the virtual keyboard. At the main screen is a piano selection gallery across the middle and four buttons along the top. Tapping the edit knob button adds adjustment knobs for volume, ambience, lid position, brightness, key release speed, tuning, and the ability to transpose. The next button is to configure the metronome with tempo and volume settings. The third button, a clef note, switches to the recording and playback system.
