With just a few days left before Halloween creeps up on us, a lot of iOS games have already dressed up for the occasion. And one of the latest to do so is Fieldrunners 2.
Fieldrunners 2 is, naturally, the sequel to Fieldrunners, which is one of the best games to come out of the tower defense genre.
Of course, Fieldrunners 2 retains all of the tower defense goodness found in the original game. And then it builds more excitement around that, as any well-made sequel ought to do.
For its latest update, Fieldrunners 2 is getting with the Halloween program with its very own spooky add-on. This add-on comes to us in the form of the new Boom-Kin tower.
Basically, the Boom-Kin tower is a tower done in the manner of a Jack O’ Lantern. But get this: it breathes fire. With not one, but two cannons.

Beyond its Halloween trappings, the updated Fieldrunners 2 brings iCloud syncing for game saves and progress. It also brings loading time reduction, better visuals, and other performance improvements.
In addition, a new coin shop is now in order in Fieldrunners 2. But for some reason, it is available only in the game’s iPhone and iPod touch edition.
Said to be a fan-requested feature, the new coin shop lets players purchase additional coins that, in turn, let you purchase special items.
Fieldrunners 2 for iPhone (which is still not optimized for iPhone 5) andFieldrunners 2 HD for iPad are available in the App Store for $2.99 and$7.99, respectively.
