East Coast Apple Stores Prepare For Hurricane Sandy

East Coast Apple Stores Prepare For Hurricane Sandy

East Coast Apple Stores are ready for Hurricane “Frankenstorm” Sandy, with between 30 and 50 retail stores expected to shut down (if they haven’t already) as the storm hits northeastern U.S. and Canada. Though you’ll likely not be looking to grab a new iPhone or iPad in the midst of Hurricane Sandy, it’s nevertheless good to hear that Apple Stores are taking the appropriate measures to stay safe during the onslaught of wind and rain.
One of our readers has confirmed that Rhode Island and Boston area stores are shut. Meanwhile, two of Apple’s flagship New York City stores have surrounded themselves with sandbags, with the Fifth Avenue store even wrapping Macs and other products in plastic bags as an extra precaution against water damage.
If you live in one of the affected areas, follow suit and stay safe. You can always head out to buy a new iPad mini once Hurricane Sandy is in the rearview mirror. And if you’re looking to keep up to date with the storm’s progress using your iPhone or iPad, look into downloading Hurricane andHurricane HD for $2.99 and $3.99, respectively.
