How Does The iPad mini’s Screen Measure Up To The Current iPads?

How Does The iPad mini’s Screen Measure Up To The Current iPads?

The iPad mini is finally here. Even though this new iOS device packs a smaller screen, it still has the same resolution as the iPad 2.
The iPad mini’s screen is only 7.9 inches, but it packs the same 1024 x 768 resolution as the iPad 2. This resolution will allow all current iPad apps to be compatible on the iPad mini. This is great news for developers and future iPad mini owners.
The biggest downside to a resolution change on an iOS device is waiting for apps to be updated to support it. This is something we’ve previously experienced with the new iPad’s 2048 x 1536 resolution, and are currently going through with the iPhone 5. Luckily, there will be no waiting for app updates on the iPad mini.
In my opinion, it’s kind of disappointing that the iPad mini doesn’t have a Retina display. Apple is probably saving that incremental upgrade for next year’s iPad mini.
