From their finance-related utility, DataMan, to their social entertainment app, JabMe, XVision has made attempts to satisfy a wide range of needs. However, the company’s latest efforts appear to be focused on gaming, adding a third entry to their “What’s That…?” series.
The series began with the App Store trivia game that challenged anyone and everyone to answer, “What’s That App?” Shortly thereafter, XVision took the idea and made a Scene It?-style game with an emphasis on online competition and named it What’s That Movie.
Now, the fast-paced action brings together music lovers to prove who really knows, “What’s That Tune?” Each player starts with two minutes and hear a preview of a song. As soon as you recognize the track, tap the correct name in the multiple choice list to continue. A correct answer awards points and transfers time from opponents, whereas incorrect guesses provide you with nothing.
If you’re a longtime Apple fan, just remember back to Music Quiz on the earlier generations of the iPod classic.
What’s That Tune? is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download. In its free form, What’s That Tune? allows two to four player Versus matches, but you can upgrade for $0.99 to unlock a single player mode, answers, and more.
