Pocket Becomes First Save-For-Later Service With Native Mac Application

One of the most popular save-for-later services is now available as a Mac app. Pocket, which is used by more than 6 million users on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and the Web, may be downloaded for free from the Mac App Store.

Originally called Read It Later, Pocket offers users a simple way to save articles from the Internet or from over 300 apps including Flipboard, Twitter, Pulse News, and Zite. Once saved to Pocket, the content is accessible on any device — phone, tablet, or computer.

The new application brings the best of Pocket to the Mac, making it the only save-for-later service with an official native Mac experience. Included features are instant syncing across all devices, keyboard shortcuts, viewing of streaming video, the ability to share found content, and organizing and search features.

Originally launched in 2007, Pocket is also available for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, Android-based tablets and smartphones, and through Google Chrome, Firefox, and Mac.
