Less than a week after the iPad mini debuted in stores, we’ve got our first rumor about Apple’s second generation model, courtesy of SlashGear.
According to the report, AU Optronics will begin mass producing a Retina display for the iPad mini 2 “by the second half of 2013.” This screen will include a 2048 x 1536 resolution and a pixel density of 324 ppi.
Despite mostly positive reviews, some have criticized Apple’s first-generation iPad because of its 7.9-inch non-Retina display, which comes with a 1024 x 768 resolution. Despite this, Apple has announced that they sold 3 million new iPads during the first days of release. This number, which Apple did not break down, includes sales for the iPad mini and iPad with Retina display
