Today’s Apps Gone Free: SketchTime, Electric Tentacle, Lead Wars And More

Sketch out what’s on your mind with Hansol Huh’s art creation app, SketchTime. We also have a distance game where you get to control electrifying critters, and a turn-based strategy game.

iPhone:

InstaPlace ($0.99 → Free, 5.4 MB): Add location and caption overlays to your photos in a snap with InstaPlace. You must first either take a photo within the app or import one from your library. You can then add one of nine overlays by swiping across the screen, and place it at the top or bottom of your photo by swiping up and down. Once everything is in place, capture your creation and send it off to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.

Cover Orange ($0.99 → Free, 24.8 MB): A cloud carrying poison rain is moving towards the exposed orange population. Your job is to cover every last one before it’s too late in this physics-based puzzle game. To save the oranges, just drop objects from the top of the screen into the playing field below. The game includes 380 levels, realistic physics, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.

Parking Meter Pro ($0.99 → Free, 22.0 MB): Avoid yet another parking ticket with this utility app. It features a simple one-touch interface that allows you to select from pre-defined time limits. You can also add a specific time limit, or just park with no limit at all. If you have an internet connect, a pin will automatically be placed on the map so you can easily find your vehicle. The app also allows you to attach photos and notes, and includes customizable alert times and sounds.

Oflow – creative ideas ($0.99 → Free, 1.7 MB): A lifestyle app that will help you get into the creative flow. The app includes more than 100 proven methods to be more creative. Methods are presented at random, but you can continuously refresh the page to receive new ones. The app also allows you to bookmark your favorite methods, take notes, and share your methods and notes via email.
Oflow – creative ideas is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 61 ratings.
Tilterpillar ($1.99 → Free, 15.4 MB): Tilt to steer your caterpillar towards the scrumptious leaves in this Snake-like arcade game. As you make your way around the screen gobbling up leaves, you’ll want to avoid the edges and, of course, your ever-growing body. You can also collect special leaf power-ups to help earn a high score. The game includes 28 colorful butterflies to earn, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
Tilterpillar is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 24 ratings.

Universal:

Lead Wars ($2.99 → Free, 22.8 MB): A turn-based strategy game that plays like those old school pencil and paper war games. Take control of an entire fleet of planes, tanks, and artillery units by flicking them around hand-drawn battlefields. The line your pencil leaves determines your move or shot. The game includes a single-player campaign, two multiplayer modes, a map creator, nine built-in battlefields, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
Lead Wars is available for free today only (11/06). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 550 ratings.
Snabbit ($0.99 → Free, 15.6 MB): Guide a snake-like rabbit creature through asteroid belts to hunt down cosmic treasure in this arcade game. Your Snabbit charges ahead by itself, so all you have to do is change its direction by tapping on each side of the screen to avoid obstacles and collect all of the stars. The game includes 90 levels, an endless mode, hidden treasures to discover, a level editor, and leaderboards via Game Center.
Snabbit is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 289 ratings.
SketchTime – Quick Sketching & Photo Tracing ($1.99 → Free, 24.4 MB): This art creation app allows you to sketch out what’s on your mind without having to deal with complicated UI elements. The app offers up two different drawing tools, a pen and marker, which leave behind lifelike strokes. You’re able to adjust the size and color of your stroke on the fly. The app also includes the ability to add grid lines, adjustable paper transparency for tracing, an eraser, the ability to play back your strokes, unlimited undo and redo, and the ability to share your sketches via Twitter or email.
SketchTime – Quick Sketching & Photo Tracing is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 35 ratings.
Electric Tentacle ($0.99 → Free, 38.1 MB): Play as a tiny panda and work your way around obstacles using your electrifying skills in this distance game. Tap the screen to fire off bolts of electricity, which pull your little creatures in their direction. Try to grab the stars scattered about, and avoid the enemies that are bouncing around for as long as possible. The game includes a bunch of cute characters to travel with, loads of power-ups, challenges to complete, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
Electric Tentacle is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 61 ratings.
