While iOS 6.0.1 crushed one display bug on the iPhone 5 and fifth-generation iPod touch, it looks like another one has been spotted.
CMA Megacorp first reported on Twitter:
iPhone 5 touch screen bug? Slide finger back and forth diagonally on screen, input events drop out or stop altogether.
And the most important part of the discovery is the diagonal angle. While it’s something most users wouldn’t run into on a day-to-day basis, it might make life difficult for app developers who are designing fast-swipe games like Fruit Ninja.

I was easily able to recreate the behavior seen in the video on my iPhone 5 in a number of different apps, including Mail, Tweetbot, and Facebook. The issue also doesn’t seemed to be confined to a specific version of iOS 6.
And our friends at iMore were unable to make the behavior happen on the screens of other Apple devices like the iPhone 4S and fourth-generation iPad, which led them to a simple conclusion:
That may indicate the issue is unique to Apple’s new 4-inch, 16:9 in-cell display devices and/or the software driving them.
