Turn Your iPad Into Your Favorite Classic Book With The New Out Of Print E-Book Jackets

Turn Your iPad Into Your Favorite Classic Book With The New Out Of Print E-Book Jackets

If you want your iPad to look like a stylishly shabby yet generic book from the 19th century, you can get one of the popular BookBook cases from Twelve South. But what if you want your iPad to look like your favorite classic book from the 19th century or beyond? Well, you can get one of thenew iPad cases from Out of Print.
The new Out of Print iPad cases or, as they’re called by their manufacturer, “e-book jackets” are products of a successful Kickstarter campaign initiated a couple of months ago.
Through the campaign, bookish specialty store Out of Print sought $15,000 to fund its e-book jacket project. But lo and behold, the campaign managed to attract more than five times its funding goal.
So, the project was pushed through. And the finished products are now ready to be cracked open.
But what makes the new Out of Print e-book jackets special? Let the following blurb from Out of Print co-founders Todd Lawton and Jeffrey LeBlanc clue you in:
Made by the oldest bookbinder in the U.S., our cases are the first to look, feel and wear like an actual book. Each hardcover case features original book cover art licensed by Out of Print, printed on book fabric that will naturally wear and look better the more you use it. Inside our case, your e-book device is well-protected with a form-fitting cradle (designed by an MIT mechanical engineer) with design elements that allow for easy access to all important buttons and ports.

The first run of Out of Print e-book jackets features the iconic cover designs for the following classic books:
  • “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • “Alice in Wonderland” in Lewis Carroll
  • “A Clockwork Orange” by Anthony Burgess
  • “The Wonderful Wizard” of Oz by L. Frank Baum
  • “Slaughterhouse-Five” by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
  • “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville
  • “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov
  • “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen
  • “Invisible Man” by Ralph Ellison
  • “On The Road” by Jack Kerouac
  • “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand
The e-book jackets are also available in plain Evergreen, Indigo, Charcoal, and Red designs.
It’s worth nothing that every purchase of an e-book jacket, or any product in the Out of Print store for that matter, donates one book to an indigent community through the nonprofit Books for Africa.
So, with the new Out of Print iPad cases, you’re not only putting the “book” back into e-books. You’re also putting a real book in the hands of a potential reader in need.
