URL2PDF has launched in the App Store. The $0.99 app converts webpages to PDF on the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
Created by Paulo Freitas, URL2PDF is very easy to use. To begin, find the webpage you wish to convert through the app’s built-in browser. You may type in the actual webpage address or use Google Search. Next, click the “Generating PDF file” button at the top right of the screen. From there, the list of PDF files is kept on the left side of the screen under “PDF list.”
Each PDF is printable, or you may send the file via email. Additionally, it can be sent to iBooks, or a similar app, for later viewing. You can also save the file to your computer by using iTunes sharing.
The app’s main drawback, at least as a version 1.0 release, is the inability to add PDF annotations to documents. For this, you will need to use a separate annotation app. Hopefully, this limitation will be eliminated with a future update. Overall, however, URL2PDF looks promising and works as intended.
URL2PDF is available now in the App Store.
