With Audiobooks App You Can Stream And Download Unlimited Books For One Monthly Price

For those that love audiobooks, but don’t like restrictions, we’ve got some good news for you. For $29.99 per month, Audiobooks.com customers can now stream and download any book on the iPhone/iPod touch or iPad. Best of all, there are no limits to how many books you can listen to during a given period of time.
Launched earlier this year by Canadian-based Simply Audiobooks, the service shouldn’t be confused with Amazon’s Audible.com. Instead, think of Audiobooks as Netflix for books. Currently, Audiobooks offers over 15,000 best sellers and new releases, and books may be played on mobile devices and through the company’s website.
Right now, new users can try Audiobooks for free through a special seven-day promotion. To get started, you must first register online, and then log into your account via the free iOS app. Know also that even with the trial, you must submit a valid credit or debit card. However, you won’t be charged if the membership is canceled within seven days.
You can also buy books a la carte.
By default, books are automatically saved to your iOS device via Wi-Fi for offline listening. You can also allow 3G/4G data downloading by making a change in the app’s settings. Keep in mind that by doing so, you may go over your monthly data limit, depending on how many books you download. Once a book is completed, it can be deleted.
Other features include:
  • Automatic bookmarking means you never lose your place
  • Full-featured audiobook player integrates with native iOS functionality to automatically pause when your listening is interrupted by a phone call
  • Save books to your personal reading list so you always know your next listen
  • Optimized iPhone 5 display
  • Dedicated iPad & iPad 2 mode to take advantage of larger screens

Audiobooks can be an expensive proposition, especially when you consider that 12 months of service would cost $360. Plus, when a subscription is canceled downloaded books are no longer playable.
Our advice: Sign up for a free trial and see what you think. Audible, by contrast, doesn’t allow unlimited streaming or downloads. However, whatever books are purchased there are yours to keep.

The Audiobooks app is available in the App Store.
