If you’re an Instagram fan, one forthcoming Kickstarter project might be of interest. Called Mount July, the project aims to provide iPhone owners with a selection of real, physical camera lens filters, thereby allowing users to add effects to images shot on a smartphone without having to retouch the picture in a photo-editing app.................
As PetaPixel, who originally reported on the project, notes:
Unlike traditional filters, which feature single colors and linear gradients, Mount July filters boast uniquely designed colorful patterns that can add both subtle and vibrant colors to your photos. What’s more, you can even stack the filters and rotate them for even more color options.
Mount July’s filters will be compatible with the iPhone, along with a number of other smartphone handsets. Below, we’ve included a gallery of images shot using a number of different Mount July smartphone camera filters. As you can see, the results are impressive.
If all goes to plan, Mount July’s smartphone camera filters will be available to preorder via Kickstarter for $30, at the end of this month. We’ll let you know once the product becomes available.
In the meantime, you can check Mount July’s Tumblr for regular updates.
