Perhaps we should call it Facebook Home, The Apple Edition. A new iOS app update will soon bring some Facebook Home features to the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, according to...........
Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, made the announcement during a tech talk in London.
She states:
Home is based on the openness of Android. It allows users to customize in ways that Apple does not. We are going to release a new version [of our mobile app] on iOS, very soon … You will see some of the features from Home will be launched with Apple.
This news comes just hours after it was reported that Apple and Facebook were having an “ongoing conversation” concerning an iOS version of Facebook Home.
First announced earlier this month, Facebook Home replaces the lock screen on Android-based devices with content from the social network. This includes photos, messages, and status updates.
We’ll certainly keep you updated on this story as it develops, and let you know when the new Facebook update arrives in the App Store.
