While most iPhone bumpers made from aerospace grade aluminum are prohibitively expensive, designed by m created a solution that only costs $79.99. And after more than quadrupling its funding goal, 100 percent of the Kickstarter orders were delivered on time, which is a very laudable feat.
Even though signal loss occurs with a metallic bumper, designed by m did its own tests and reported signal loss of less than 10 percent with the AL13, compared to 20 percent or more with other metal bumpers.
The bumper raises the iPhone away from surfaces to protect the edges while absorbing shock from everyday wear. The AL13’s rubber lining also acts as a shock absorber to minimize damager and protect the handset when installing it. Unlike other solutions, the bumper glides on and locks into place without requiring screws or other tools. A screen protector is also included in the package.
