Following the announcement of iTunes Radio, some of the most popular music streaming services have been coming up with updates to their respective iOS apps, apparently in a bid to reclaim the spotlight from Apple’s own music streaming service.........................
Last month, just over a week after Apple introduced iTunes Radio, Rdio for iOS was updated with Song Stations and an AutoPlay feature. Then, just a week ago, Spotify for iOS was updated with a new Discover feature, support for editing playlists on the go, and more.
Now, it’s Pandora Radio‘s turn.
The official iOS app of the popular service to which iTunes Radio is arguably most similar has just been updated with better buffering and a neat automatic pause-triggered mute feature, among other enhancements:
- Stuck with a flaky connection? We’ve improved playback buffering to keep your favorite music stutter-free.
- Never miss another great song: if you mute your phone, we’ll pause your music for you.
- More links to more of what you love: all the URLs that work on Pandora.com now work just as well on your phone.
- Bug fixes and improvements to keep your music playing as it should.
The new version of Pandora Radio is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later.
