Sony's Music Unlimited App For iOS Finally Gains Offline Playback Support

A couple of weeks ago, Sony announced that its Music Unlimited app for iOS had been updated with support for offline playback, except it actually hadn’t. Well, today the app has been updated with said long-overdue feature — for real...................

With Music Unlimited’s newly added offline playback support, you can now listen to your favorite songs and albums from the service even without an Internet connection. Of course, before you can, you first have to download them onto your iDevice.
You can download an entire album or just a single song for offline playback. Check out the video below to learn how:

As shown in the video, you can see all of your active and completed downloads by going to the app’s new tray-style sidebar menu, which now includes My Downloads and Download Queue.
Just like your regular Music Unlimited library, My Downloads lets you browse music by artists, albums, songs, and playlists. The Download Queue, for its part, lets you see your downloads in progress, pause any of them, or delete any of them.
The app’s new sidebar menu also includes an Offline Mode toggle switch. Just enable Offline Mode to listen to your downloaded songs and albums absent an Internet connection.
The new version of Music Unlimited is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 or later.
The newly updated app also features a new High Quality audio streaming option. Enable this option in the app’s settings to stream music at 320Kbps.
