Finally Some Good News About iOS 6 Maps

Finally Some Good News About iOS 6 Maps

Many users haven’t exactly warmed up to Apple’s new Maps app in iOS 6. However, there is some good news to pass along, courtesy of AppleInsider.
Apple’s new mapping service uses vector maps that provide “fast, sophisticated navigation of 2D and 3D views with fluid panning, rotation and perspective, in contrast to the flat, static map images provided by Apple’s previous version of the app.” In doing so, the vectors use an estimated 80 percent less data since the iPhone can download large areas of maps faster and store them in cache for offline viewing.
